Daas Helios. "Daas" comes from two sources: I took a year of German in High School, and was miserable at it, so I decided to at least like the language. Second: "Das" is what my roommates in college called me, because I looked like the perfect looking German dude. "Helios" is the greek god of the sun. Apollo, if you will. When I was very young, I used the CB Radio a lot. My dad was into it, until the computer age came along. He was "WW" for his handle, I was "The Sundance Kid", for my handle. The connection between "Helios", and "The Sundance Kid" should become obvious to the reader by now.
I will say that in the past, I have had many handles on the net. Wintermute, Neuromancer, Circuit Ryder, Maybe more that were just throw-away handles. But that is who I was.
I have been a netizen since 1989. That pre-dates the web by four to six years, depending on who you ask.
I was born in Kansas City, Missouri at Research Medical Center {at least that's what I remember my mom telling me).
I lived for the first eight years of my life in Raytown. It is a suburb of Kansas City.
Then I moved to Rolla, Missouri. I attended Rolla Schools: Mark Twain Elementary School, Rolla Middle School, Rolla Junior High School, and finally graduated from Rolla High School in May of 1989. After high school I took some time off, and worked a bit before starting school at UMR (now MST). I enrolled in the computer science program and took classes for a year. I changed majors twice and changed schools before I decided on Fine Art, and Art History as my major and minor course of studies. I settled in the town that I went to University at: Columbia Missouri.
